Wear like a boss!

My boyfriend has always been a big fan of Star Trek…and I decided that this Star Wars girl would do a cosplay for his sake. I went with the red dress uniform, I bought it quick and easy from Amazon due to not having time to make it myself like I usually do.

Canvas photos

As an avid Pinterest user, I have seen MANY tutorials about applying photos to canvas. So, I decided to give it a try with a series of 4 photos of my boyfriend and I from our trip to Wisconsin for Christmas. These pictures are from probably one of the best days of my life and I wanted them all together, but I wanted to save a buck since they would be in my bedroom and mostly just to make myself smile.

So, I got the photos printed at my local Walgreen’s…using a coupon of course that took off 40%. They were 8×10 glossy prints. I bought a 10 pack of value canvas from Joann’s in the 8×10 size. Surprisingly tho…8×10 did not mean the same thing in both of these products. -_- I also bought black acrylic paint from Walmart and already have mod-podge from other projects.

I painted the edges of the canvases and waited for them to dry. I, then, mod podged the canvas and stuck the photos on, just to find out that the photos were bigger than the canvas…I trimmed down all the photos and continued with this step, let it dry a bit. I then did a layer of mod podge on top of the photo…ta-da.

Yes, I know the pieces aren’t even on the wall, the hanging process is in the works, I’m not sure that that is the location that I want them to hang, I just had old nails there.
